When you're next sat on Bath Road, trying to get through Radstocks daily traffic jam from hell, consider how some people solve their problems.

Imagine a Radstock where 'planners', - having already allowed hundreds of new homes, - and now busily contemplating thousands more, spent just a little time reflecting on the need of their inhabitants to travel to and from work, as well as in pursuit of leisure activities, which are sadly lacking locally.

Imagine a Radstock bypassed by a fly-over from Clandown corner to Westfield.
Imagine a Radstock bypassed by a new cut road from Terry's Cross to Farrington Gurney.
Imagine a Radstock with only local traffic to contemplate.

Imagine a Radstock with a working steam railway link to Frome, - imagine the benefits to the local economy as people flock from wide and far to catch a ride.
Imagine a Radstock with new business and industry opening up, offering many and varied local job and career opportunities for local people, because of it's excellent traffic links to the outside world.

. . . . yeah, imagine!

About the Midsomer Norton and Radstock Area

You'll find Midsomer Norton and Radstock 10 miles south of Bath, about a mile apart. Although very different in character and origin, the towns are usually referred to under the one embracing label, - as "Norton Radstock".

Radstock is a former mining and railway town located on the old Roman 'Fosse Way'. Once the powerhouse for Bath, Radstock has some unique architecture associated with its mining and Victorian heritage. Radstock has been described as the best preserved former mining town in the country, and may soon become a conser- vation area.Independent retailers in the town offer a range of food, retail and service outlets, and are mostly based in The Street, Fortescue Road and Wells Hill. The former market hall on Waterloo Road now houses the Radstock Museum showing many aspects of local life in bygone times, and in 1997 celebrated its centenary along with the Victoria Hall, - now the Home of Norton Radstock Town Council.
